Sharlene M. Sylvia-Casimir is a Tax Director in Anchin’s Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credits Group.

Sharlene has over 20 years of experience. She leads a team of tax professionals, offering technical guidance and project oversight for federal and state tax incentives. She also provides the final technical review for client engagements and crafts customized engagement methodologies to address clients’ unique business needs. Additionally, she takes charge of annual R&D training initiatives and skillfully manages all aspects of R&D tax examinations, from meeting with tax authority agents to drafting technical memoranda and handling appeals.

Prior to joining Anchin, Sharlene had a long tenure at a Big 4 firm, where she held the position of Senior Manager in her most recent role. She is a CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Sharlene also volunteers her time with New York Cares.
