Meet David M. Beckman
David M. Beckman, CFF, CFE, is a Managing Director – Advisory in Litigation, Forensic and Valuation Services with more than 30 years of experience. He is a forensic accounting professional with strong technical and investigative skills and has broad experience in identifying and analyzing fraudulent financial reporting, analyzing contract and shareholder disputes, performing fraud and corporate investigations, analyzing and quantifying economic damages in commercial and employment disputes, and advising and consulting on the application of accounting and auditing standards, and accountants’ malpractice matters. David has been qualified as an expert witness in the New York State Supreme Court and has provided testimony before various arbitration organizations.
Adept in various stages of the litigation process, David works on an array of complex litigation matters – consulting on overall case strategy; advising on complaints, motions and pleadings; preparing document requests; researching and analyzing generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS); assisting with witness depositions and interviews; writing expert reports; preparing for and attending trial; and preparing trial demonstratives and exhibits. David is also a subject matter expert on the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), having advised on over 100 PPP loan applications and forgiveness analyses for clients. His work encompasses civil and criminal matters, arbitrations, mediations, and matters involving the SEC and other government agencies.
David works with clients across a range of industries, including real estate, hospitality, construction, telecommunications, retail, transportation, manufacturing, financing companies including securitizations, financial services, professional services, and the food and beverage industry.
David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Litigation Services Committee of the NYSSCPAs, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He also previously served as an audit committee member of the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.
