The Anchin Executive Network (AEN) is a multi-dimensional networking initiative that is built to assist executive-level finance and accounting professionals with whom Anchin has a relationship. Our goal is to help you find the position you’re looking for, while serving as a bridge to Anchin’s clients and friends.

Educational and Professional Development

AEN will provide complementary continuing professional education classes and resources for members of AEN. We will provide educational opportunities through our CPE for CFOs program, along with our industry-focused teams, producing live seminars and events, webinars, and presentations exclusively for members. Topics will include financial and business reporting, taxation, and other hot button financial issues currently affecting the business community. Anchin is certified to provide continuing professional education credits.

Exclusive Networking Events and Content

AEN has many long time established relationships in the business community and this will serve as a resource for its members. Anchin hosts dozens of industry events per year and members of AEN will have access to these networking opportunities. AEN will also hold periodical networking events focused on bringing together tri-state region finance and accounting executives.     Controller
    Reporting to the Owner this person will be an integral part of the senior management team of the Company.

    Job Requirements:
    • The Controller will have an in depth knowledge of successful finance and operations systems and strategies to assure internal controls, sound financial reporting, business planning and forecasting.
    • 10+ years of accounting, systems or finance experience.
    • Will provide direction to Accounting, AR,AP, Payroll
    • Must have experience with sales tax

    • Initiates journal entries into various accounts to adequately reflect appropriate account balances.

  • Controller (Food Production) – New York, NY

    A rapidly growing distributor/provider in the food industry is looking for a Controller who can work with executive management as well as identifying new partners to identify optimal, efficient, and affordable solutions to each of these functional requirements. They are looking for someone who can make cogent recommendations and develop the framework for new tools and standards that can be utilized and expanded upon as the business grows. The right candidate will be fluid and adaptable, comfortable with changing circumstances, and capable of balancing competing priorities. Client is a small business with huge potential, and is looking for foundational staff up for the challenge, inspired by the mission, and excited about the potential.

    The Controller will be tasked with identifying and developing the key tools, activities, protocols and data in order to establish how best to institutionalize each function: existing or new full-time staff, outsourced resources, or systems solutions. Future responsibilities will be defined by how readily each of the above functions can be best addressed and organized.

    This position will report to the Vice President of Operations and Finance. The position will be based in New York and will require some travel to upstate New York to work closely with outsourced accounting team.

    Responsibilities:
    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial close and reporting on income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow of the 3 individual entities as well as consolidated
    • Provide analysis and recommendations to management based on financial performance
    • Oversee transactional responsibilities performed by outsourced accounting team (AR, AP, producer payments, pullet invoicing, loan repayments, feed invoicing and cross-entity transactions, journal entries, and farm payments)
    • Implement improvements to accounting protocols and standards, specifically to start: cost of goods sold and inventory accounting, 3rd party toll mill billing and invoicing, pullet invoicing and expense accounting

  • Controller (E-Commerce) – Morris County, NJ

    An E-Commerce company has an immediate opportunity for a top-notch Controller to join their Accounting Team in Morris County. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established entrepreneurial organization in a fast paced, rapidly growing, privately held company.

    THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST:
    • Have solid experience with all aspects of the Controller function, including financial analysis, planning and reporting.
    • Have prior experience in all aspects of bookkeeping, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control, job costing, bank reconcilement, sales tax and month-end financial reporting. Specific experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and the complete Microsoft Office Suite is required.
    • Have the ability to document and improve procedures. ISO or Lean a plus!
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Roll up sleeves and do the necessary work while training their staff and building systems to automate.
    • Build financial models.
    • Work in QuickBooks and help the transition into a more robust system in the near future.
    • Build budgets and keep departments accountable to them by measuring and monitoring them.
    • Weekly flash report and dashboards on the health and wealth of the company
    • Experience with the selection and implementation of an ERP or WMS system is a real plus.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning and conservation of assets.
    • Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company.
    • Oversee outside accountants’ preparation of audited financials.
    • Oversee the approval and processing of revenues and expenses, department budgets, salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.
    • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analysis, and information reports.
    • Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
    • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations.
    • Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
    • Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
    • Assist in obtaining and maintaining the necessary licenses and insurance.

    • Managing the activities of several bookkeepers and provide controllership services to our clients.

    Requirements & Qualifications:

    Qualifications:

    • Managing a company that sells products through retailers and ecommerce direct to consumer
    • Building their future team for a $100M company
    • Building accounting IS automation for high volumes of individual sales transactions through many EDI and retailer web sites
    • Consumer sales tax understanding within various states and how nexus works
