Accounting, a well-respected trade publication. The Firm also was named one of the 30 Best Companies to work for in New York for 2007. The New York State Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Best Companies Group, an independent company managing Best Places to Work programs in states around the country, formed a partnership to launch this program.

The "best of the best" honor from Inside Public Accounting honors 25 firms nationwide for their wise management and superior operational performance in fiscal and management metrics based on 35 different criteria.

To be considered for the "best place to work" honor, Anchin was evaluated in a number of areas, including workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics as well as an employee survey designed to measure the employee experience.

"These honors are not the result of 'luck' or coincidence," according to Managing Partner Frank A. Schettino. "Instead, they are the result of dedicated efforts identified in the Firm's Strategic Plan and new initiatives instituted in recent years. Those initiatives have included the development of improved performance feedback, upgraded mentoring and coaching programs, an expanded recruiting program, an improved orientation for new hires, and the establishment of the Care Committee, which plans a growing number of charitable and social events.

"We are honored to receive these recognitions," Schettino said, "and promise that we will continue to work hard in the coming months and years so that Anchin remains one of the 'best of the best' on all fronts."

The Best Companies to Work For program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places to work in the state. The list is made up of 30 companies split into two groups: 15 medium-sized companies (25 to 250 employees) and 15 large-sized companies (251 or more employees). Anchin was recognized in the large company category and is in excellent company. Other large companies recognized in this year's competition included a number of financial, educational, and nonprofit organizations.

With a staff of 400, Anchin serves privately-held businesses and high net worth individuals with a wide range of traditional and non-traditional advisory services, including financial statement preparation; tax planning and compliance services; economic development and tax incentives; management and succession advisory services; litigation support, forensic accounting and valuation services; merger and acquisition services; and wealth management.
