Anchin earns "Best Of" honors
In city, state and national surveys, Anchin has earned in recent months the distinction of being named a “Best Place to Work.”
Specifically, Anchin has been named a Best Place to Work in New York City by Crain’s New York Business, a Best Place to Work in New York State by the Society of Human Resources Management, and one of the Top 5 Large Accounting Firms to Work For in the nation by Accounting Today Magazine.
The determinations are based upon independent, anonymous surveys submitted by firm personnel, written descriptions of key Human Resource programs and initiatives, and the analysis of statistical data provided by the firm to each awarding organization.
“As you can imagine, we are delighted by this recognition,” says Frank Schettino, Anchin’s managing partner. “This recognition speaks volumes to the human resources initiatives we have put into place at Anchin to develop a challenged and satisfied work force. These initiatives include an intensive professional development and mentoring system, including the establishment of our own Anchin University, as well as an ongoing program of social and community service programs. ”
“This recognition awarded the Firm is important to our clients as well, “ Schettino says. “We know that a satisfied, stable professional team delivers the best possible service to our clients. It means that our professionals truly get to know our clients’ businesses and the industries in which we operate. Our goal every day is to deliver not good, but great service to our clients.”
Anchin University, the firm’s internal professional development program, consists of some 400 technical and “soft skill” programs that are available through classes and web-based programs. Anchin University as well as Anchin’s CARE Committee, which organizes the Firm’s community service projects, are two of many human resources initiatives implemented by Associate Managing Partner Ehud Sadan.
Community service programs are scheduled throughout the year. Most recently, staff members created a fund-raising event for Haitian relief efforts and staffed soup kitchens throughout the New York area during the month of December. Participation in this effort included personnel at all levels, from new associates to partners.
Other community service projects in recent years have included annual New York Cares Day, Go Red for Women drives (to support the American Heart Association), blood drives, breast cancer walks, and Operation Backpack, where firm personnel donated school supplies and backpacks to children in need. These community service projects are organized by Anchin’s CARE Committee, chaired by partner Terry Pissi.
“We work hard to be a good corporate citizen and to create an environment where people want to come to work every day, ” Schettino said. “This recognition on city, state and national levels validates those efforts.” |
