Anchin Women’s Initiative Network

Anchin launched its Women’s Professional Development program, now called AWIN, to help our female professionals advance their careers:

  • To guide women in the Firm with their professional development that goes beyond technical training. We believe that it takes more than technical know-how to be a well-rounded professional.
  • To teach them business development skills that are critical for success in today’s competitive market.
  • To assist networking and mentoring among women in the Firm. With a staff that exceeds 350, we know that it is not easy to get to know everyone on staff. These programs bring together a group of women who share some common goals.
  • To enhance the retention of our own professional staff. By offering these training sessions, we continue to make Anchin the employer of choice for professionals.

Anchin’s Women’s Initiative Network, AWIN, represents the evolution of a professional development program created for Anchin’s women’s professionals many years ago.

First proposed by Tax Principal Mela Garber and now under the direction of Audit Partner Terry Pissi, AWIN includes periodic presentations by outstanding professional women in a variety of industries as well as a series of internal workshops.

Speakers and topics for AWIN are based on surveys completed by participants. Topics of interest defined by recent participants include communications skills, work/life balance, leadership skills, networking, business writing skills, public speaking, mentoring, and dressing for success.

The commitment that the Firm has made to this program is evident by the caliber of recent speakers:
